We just added a cool new addition to the site which shows a breakdown of a users review trends. In all honesty we kind of sneaked this one in as a smart little extra and had no idea it would be such a big hit.

We have to thank everyone who sent an email telling us they loved it.

On the left hand side of a users profile page you will see a bar graph called “My Review Stats” – this shows a breakdown of how many places that person has reviewed and the star ratings they have been dishing out.

If you click the link below “See all my stats” you will get a pretty neat breakdown of Areas and Categories that user has been reviewing.

Remember “the geeky stuff is the new cool”

It’s an exciting day at the GoMy HQ today – We just turned on the lights for our brand new feature “Chit Chat”.

Chit Chat is like a cross between a wall on Facebook, mixed with a Twitter style feed and made to work like a text message – a text message with many people involved.

It’s a great way of keeping in touch with your friends, or to start networking with new people. We left out the Electronic Teddy Bears and just provided a great place to talk.

Only people in your friends list can see read or write on your Chit Chat, so it will stay hidden away from anybody you don’t want to include.

How to use:
You need to be logged in to your profile to see the Chit Chat link.

To post a message on your own Chit Chat: The menu on the left hand side of your profile will display the Chit Chat link. Just click on that and type anything you like into the “What’s happening” box at the top of the page.

To post your message on a friends Chit Chat: Click through to any of your friends profiles and use the Chit Chat link on the left hand side of their page. Now you can type anything you like into the “What’s happening” box at the top of the page.

We will keep you updated with any new messages you or your friends send to each other.

You can log in and give Chit Chat a test right here.

Business Reviews, Local Search, Local Events, People talking and making friends… Sounds familiar for sure, and we are aware this has been done before. But we do plan on being a little different.

First of all we are just a couple of Northern Lads… fair enough we have a good balance of business history, acumen and mind racing ideas, but I think our attitude is a great start for the world of GoMy.

If we had to get into the nuts and bolts and mission statements right now, I think it would take the edge off our real plans, and that is the down to earth direction of the site. We do have strong aspirations to become the next big thing of course, but keeping our feet on the ground is our real goal. GoMy is a people site, and the people that use it, review on it, talk about it, are the ones that will define the future of anything we do. In a nutshell GoMy is not ours, it’s yours!

Of course a big thank you to all friends, family, and everyone involved so far. Don’t stop now, please keep writing reviews and telling the world we exist, your help is so important to us.

I will try and keep my posts very frequent as we start working our way up this business ladder. The Blog will be a little more straight and to the point, perhaps boring to some people, but a great place for you to read about what we have going on.

Thanks for reading our first official Blog entry, and we are look forward to reading “Plenty” of your reviews on the site!
